MaddaWalabu University, College of Health Science and Medicine is located in Goba town, Bale zone, Oromia Regional State, South East Ethiopia 445 kms from Addis Ababa at the foot of Bale mountain.
After integration with MWU in 1999 E.C, it was training the undergraduate student in different departments like Public health officers, Nursing, Environmental Health, and midwives.
In 2004 E.C the school of Medicine was established, then started to train undergraduate medical students based on the new medical curriculum (NMEI).
The pharmacy department was launched in 2010 E.Cunder the school of medicine in B.Pharm(Bachelor of pharmacy) program admitting 35 students for the first time.
The department has currently a total of eighteen (18) academic staff 2(Ph.D. candidates), 4(2nd-degree lectures), 4 (MSc candidates) 4(1st-degree assistant lecturers), and 4(technical assistants).
The total numbers of students in training are 143(Female 49) regular and 32(Female 5) Post-basic students.
The department has four unities that are under structure to develop into departments.
