Madda Walabu University has launched a comprehensive training and workshop program on Technology Innovation and Incubation for Empowering Future Startups, aimed at nurturing innovative thinking and entrepreneurial skills among students with strong potential in technology and innovation.
The training brought together selected students from various academic disciplines who have demonstrated creativity, innovation potential, and a keen interest in technology-based solutions. The initiative is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience required to transform innovative ideas into viable startup ventures.
The program was officially opened by Dr. Bezabih Wondimu, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Research, Technology Transfer, and Community Service at Madda Walabu University. In his welcoming and opening remarks, Dr. Bezabih emphasized the critical role of technological innovation in addressing societal challenges, creating employment opportunities, and accelerating sustainable development. He noted that universities have a significant responsibility not only to provide academic knowledge but also to cultivate innovation, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving skills among students.
The training and workshop cover a wide range of practical and theoretical topics, including fundamental concepts of technological innovation, basics of 3D design and 3D printing, innovation and incubation processes, startup ecosystem development, product design, and prototyping techniques delivered by Senior Lecturer and Mentor Mr. Inshishu Tsegaye and Bikila Debela.
Speaking during the event, the Project Principal Investigator and Coordinator, Mr. Abdella Aman, explained that innovation-driven startups play a vital role in creating jobs, promoting economic growth, and solving real-world problems through technology.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the opportunity provided by the University, describing the training as highly valuable and inspiring.
